Research and Design of Prospective Hand-Operated High-Speed Electromechanical Shearing Machines for Animals

Objective

Hand-held shearing machines are widely spread throughout the world; there are three (3) design versions of them:
1. Low-voltage (36V) three-phase high frequency (200Hz) machines;
2. Single-phase (220V 50Hz) double electrical insulation machines;
3. Flexible-shaft shearing machines, 380V 50Hz three-phase and 240V 50Hz single-phase.
The existing shearing machines consist of many complex parts inevitably leading to extra vibration and high noise. Shearing process is a quite tedious and complex technological procedure. In 80 years engineering minds failed to improve the design of shearing machines or to find solutions based on a new principle of work. It was not possible to improve working conditions of the shearer either. Current shearing technology can lead to vibration disease; the noise is relatively big and the work becomes unpleasant. The animals are scared of the noise and prevent the shearer from doing the work.
The purpose of the project is to create an original design of a competitive prospective modern electro-mechanical shearing machine, differing from the existing designs, primarily, by absolutely new mode of operation and high reliability, as well as by low noise, low cost, ease and comfort of operation, and low weight and size.
