ISTC participated in the 1st Global Partnership Working Group of the G7

The ISTC Director participated in the 1st Global Partnership Working Group as part of Italy's term as Chair of the G7 in Rome on 7th, 8th & 9th February 2024. The meeting attracting about 200 participants from the non-proliferation and disarmament sectors of countries and organisations; essentially from 15 GB Member States and a number of International Organisations including ISTC's sister Organisation the STCU.

A broad range of CBRN and security issues were discussed during the 3 days with separate working groups for the CBRN subjects, focusing on important geopolitical and current world threat issues preventing the threats and proliferation of chemical, biological radiological and nuclear weapons and related technologies and materials and where the Global Partnership acts as a global forum for discussing and organizing initiatives for such prevention of proliferation and terrorism of CBRN weapons.

The Global Partnership Meeting also give the opportunity for participants to network, arrange side meetings and discuss with organisations and partners and the ISTC Executive Director took the opportunity to meet with ISTC's Country Members and Partners also in attendance as well as potential and interested Countries and Partners to discuss relevant and topical issues regarding ISTC's projects and activities. The ISTC's attendance at these conferences demonstrates its dedication to promoting CBRN nonproliferation on a global scale.
