ISTC participated in the 10th international meeting of National Focal Points of the EU CBRN CoE Initiative

The International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) took part in the 10th international meeting of the National Focal Points of the EU CBRN Risk Mitigation Center of Excellence (CoE) Initiative, held on May 14-15 in Brussels, Belgium. The event marked the 15th Anniversary of the CoE Initiative, a significant milestone in global efforts to strengthen Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) risk mitigation capacities. ISTC was represented by Executive Director Karina Anguelieva and Project Officer Dana Yessenzhanova.

The meeting gathered key stakeholders from the 63 partner countries of the CoE network, including government representatives, international organizations, and donor communities. During the meeting a project funded by ISTC train the trainers (CBRN emergencies) also demonstrated among the participants along with other projects.

The ISTC delegation held also a bilateral meeting with Mr. Talgat Toleubayev, Regional Coordinator of the CBRN Risk Mitigation and Security Governance Programme, and Nargizakhon Usmanova, Regional Coordinator for Central Asia. ISTC briefly exchange views on ongoing and future cooperation under the ISTC–CoE partnership. In addition, Ms. Anguelieva had a brief meeting with Pamela West, National Focal Point of Nigeria, during which they exchanged views on potential areas of collaboration.
