On 16 September at a conference in Sofia titled “Re:Think Green - Green Solutions from Bulgaria, 2025” Ms Karina Anguelieva presented a report authored by her on green innovations, prepared within the framework of a project initiated and implemented by MOVE.BG, a think tank for innovative technology-driven solutions for social transformation and a platform for forging pathways into sustainable development.

The study “Green Solutions from Bulgaria”, which is being conducted for a second year in a row, is based on data from three key groups of actors: green startups, scientific projects, and civil society organizations. In 2025, the study has a special focus on innovation in the development of smart cities in Bulgaria and the implementation of environmentally friendly solutions. It has enlarged the scope of its inquiry to cover circular economy, social innovations, clean energy, and funding.

At the launching event, Sasha Bezuhanova, founder of MOVE.BG, and Laurence Tubiana, CEO of the European Climate Foundation, greeted the participants. The conference coincided with the International Day of Science, Technology and Innovation for the South. The coincidence highlights how knowledge, research, and technological advancements can solve pressing global challenges through international cooperation to which ISTC is firmly committed.
