ISTC co-sponsored the Young Scientists Summit in Turkestan, Kazakhstan

The ISTC is co-sponsoring the Young Scientists Summit at the International Kazakh-Turkish University in Turkestan, Kazakhstan on April 25th and 26th. Partner organizations include Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Science Fund, the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization, or UNECSO, and the host institution, the International Kazakh-Turkish University in Turkestan. The Science Fund delivered welcoming remarks on behalf of ISTC Executive Director, David Cleave.

ISTC sponsored the arrival of two scientists. Keynote speaker at the conference was Dr. Toshihiko Yamada from Hokkaido University with the topic “Food, Feed, Energy”. Another speaker - Dr. Takashi Ninomiya from University of Tsukuba gave a lecture on international cooperation. 

Over the course of the 30 years that ISTC has managed research projects, it has consistently provided support to scientists. More than 220 projects have been implemented, in which 5,400 Kazakhstani scientists have participated for a total of 124 million USD. Globally ISTC implemented over 4,500 projects, attracted 1,6 billion USD in funding, engaged over 80,000 scientists and have been active in cooperation in 100 different countries worldwide.
