ISTC announced a new Deputy Executive Director appointment
The International Science and Technology Center welcomes Rashitdin Kokenov as the Center’s new Deputy Executive Director effective from today 17 July 2023.
Outgoing Deputy Executive Director Aidyn Turebayev will continue to serve ISTC; for the time being, in a transition training & advisory role.
Mr. Rashitdin comes to the ISTC from the Fostering Productive Innovation Project where, as a Senior Manager, he analyzed coordination in the National Innovation System. He developed surveys of universities and research institutes for monitoring science, technology and innovation. He has worked in government sector, serving as Deputy Director in the Department for Educational Analytics, Monitoring and Evaluation where he liaised with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, an international research organization based in Paris. Mr. Kokenov headed up the International Cooperation Division in the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, implementing state policy in scientific and technical activities with a focus on commercializing science-oriented initiatives.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Law from GUU University, a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from the Eurasian National University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the Academy of Public Administration.
