Happy Day of the Astana Day!
On 6 July 1994, Kazakhstan’s Supreme Council adopted a resolution to transfer the country’s capital from Almaty to what was then known as Akmola, later renamed Astana on 6 May 1998. Since that time it has been Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana has grown into a world-class city in the heart of Central Asia. ISTC headquarters moved to Astana in 2015.
