The 2nd International Conference on “The role of young scientists in the development of science, innovation and technology” (May 11-12, 2017 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan)

ISTC co-funded and took part in the 2nd International Conference on “The role of young scientists in the development of science, innovation and technology” (May 11-12, 2017 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan).
The conference was organized by the Council of Young Scientists - scientific and educational association, acting on the basis of the Republic of Tajikistan’s legislation, which brings together young scientists and researchers working in the system of the Academy of Sciences, the Republic of Tajikistan.
The opening was done by Academician Mr. Farhod Rahimi, the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan. 
The Conference was attended by a large number of people: young scientists from Research Institutes, representatives from Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of Tajikistan and many other representatives of CIS countries. (Tajikistan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Pakistan).
During the conference various presentations were given with research in many areas: humanities, natural sciences and physics, mathematics and IT. 
More than 52 speakers took part in the meeting. This allowed gathering young scientists in one place, they have presented their interests and the results of their research in all scientific fields. As a whole, it helps to promote interdisciplinary research in the future, which is of great importance since nowadays it is at the intersection of different areas of science that the most significant breakthroughs and discoveries around the world occur. 
Additionally, working groups discussed regional science project proposals and also advice was given on how to make such science project proposals successful. Participation in such conferences allows expanding the scope of scientific cooperation and raising the level of scientific work in each CIS country.
By the beginning of the conference the Council of Young Scientists prepared a collection of materials with a total volume of more than 140 works of authorship.
ISTC as a co-partner of this event has allocated $20 000. Some of the invited researchers were S. Zhaparov, M. Tomanov (Kazakhstan), E. Baban (Moldova), G. Vardanyan, J. Karapetyan (Armenia), F. Salmanov (Azerbaijan).
At the conference the role of ISTC, benefits of project implementation and also distribution of funds by area of application such as chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear materials that are of proliferation concern, were presented. Moreover, the Center has supported more than 3000 projects and 74,000 scientists with a total amount of 1 billion USD. 
Representative of the Economic Cooperation Organization Science Foundation (ECOSF) – Dr. Khalil Raza described ECOSF as the most active Science Foundation and strongly advocated inter-regional cooperation. Foundation supported the subject conference as co-partner. 
In a separate conversation with the ECOSF representative Mr. Khalil Raza, the Scientific Officer, expressed desire to cooperate with ISTC, proposed to organize a meeting with Execute Director of ISTC Mr. David Cleave for cooperation.
At the end of the event Memorandum of cooperation between Council of Young Scientists, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan and other Councils was signed.
