The ISTC Science Advisory Committee and the ISTC Secretariat headed by Executive Director David Cleave met for their SAC67th Meeting at the JAEA Office in Iwaki Japan on 29th October 2019, chaired by SAC Chairman Tokio Fukahori.
As part of the visit to Japan the SAC, plus representative of the Secretariat and also observers from the US Department of Energy also visited the TEPCO Museum to be briefed on the visit to the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) to see the remediation works that have been carried out since the NPP disaster caused by the Tsunami on 11th March 2011. 
ISTC and sister organization STCU had earlier been involved in 6 remediation projects funded by the US Department of Energy at the Fukushima NPP and surrounding areas that had involved scientists from Ukraine and Central Asian Institutes specializing in radioactive remediation, so this visit to the NPP was a good opportunity to see the clean up operations done and in progress.
