Nonproliferation and Nuclear Security Training Performance Metrics Workshop, Tbilisi, Georgia, 23-24 August 2017

 

From August 23 – 24, the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) held a workshop on nonproliferation and nuclear security training metrics in Tbilisi, Georgia. The event was organized jointly with the Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU), in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) and the Middle East Scientific Institute for Security (MESIS).

Representatives from 12 organizations participated in the workshop, including the Kazakhstan Nuclear Security Training Center,  Lithuania Center of Excellence,  European Commission Joint Research Center, Japan Integrated Support Center for Nuclear Nonproliferation and Nuclear Security,  Ukraine Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and the Georgian hosts from Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation.

The aim of the workshop was to exchange good practices related to nonproliferation and nuclear security training evaluation approaches, and addressing cultural factors that may influence how training is delivered and measured.
