ISTC Special day on June 14, 2017 within the context of the Astana EXPO 2017

On June 14, 2017 within the context of the International Specialized Exhibition Astana EXPO 2017, the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC) will host an ISTC Special day event dedicated to the theme "Future Energy and Technologies".

ISTC facilitates the implementation of international scientific projects, helps the global scientific and business community to find and engage with institutions of the CIS countries and Georgia that have unique scientific know-how for joint development and projects.

The ISTC Special day will be held in the conference hall C3 of the Higher School of Business of Nazarbayev University. More than 200 participants from various public and private sector organizations, representatives of foreign embassies, leaders and employees of ISTC partner organizations are expected to attend.

The speakers at the conference will be well-known scientists, representatives of international organizations such as: Dr. Chung Rae Kwon, contributor to the award of IPCC Nobel Peace Prize 2007, Dr. Shri Prakash, representative of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). Welcoming speeches will be delivered by Mr. Aslanbek Amrin, the Vice-Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Bolatbek Abdrassilov, Chairman of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science, Dr. Ronald F. Lehman II, representative of U.S. Department of Energy, as well as ambassadors Mr. George A. Krol, (the United States of America). Mr. Traian Laurentiu Hristea (the European Union Delegation) and Mr. Ichiro Kawabata (Japan).

For the first time in Kazakhstan, the representatives of two large-scale international projects will make presentations: Mrs. Sabina Griffith from International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) and Mr. Colin Rhys, Creative Director of Hyperloop One (project for creating a mode of transportation through a reduced-pressure tube).

During the event, the heads of government agencies of various countries and major international organizations, as well as world-renowned and reputable industry experts will exchange views and experience on topical issues on the regional and global problems.

The conference will not only present the activities and achievements of ISTC in the region, but also will discuss global trends and prospects for the development of technologies and energy systems of the future.
