Future Energy Forum - Energy For All - Challenges of the New Time

The  2-day Conference Energy for all as part of the Astana EXPO 2017 Future Energy Theme and organised by Nazarbayev University  took place at the EXPO Congress Center on 8-9 August 2017.

ISTC was one of the main sponsors and supporters of the conference as part of the host of forums and conferences that focus on the EXPO theme of Future Energy of Astana EXPO 2017 that marks a new and pioneering chapter in the story of global discussions on dealing with climate change and new energies.

Being the host of Astana EXPO 2017 Kazakhstan is at the forefront of future energy development and the Future Energy Forum is designed to inform, inspire and innovate, to foster participation and exchange, and to actively create a global platform for a Global future of renewable energy.

ISTC's Executive Director David Cleave gave an opening speech detailing ISTC's participation in the EXPO as well as ISTC's background in projects funded in the R&D & S&T areas as related to energy projects. In addition ISTC sponsored 2 expert speakers to participate in the conference. Mr. Jacek Cukrowski, Chief, Regional Division for Europe and Central Asia United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and Mr. Michael Hawkes, Assistant Professor Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Alberta who both participated in the moderated plenary sessions to discuss challenges of the new time and access to clean and affordable energy respectively.
