Project summaryThe project goal is to develop tutorial and methodical Package for usage as the tutorial, educational, methodical, reference, informative, illustrative tool in educational institutions and scientific centers at learning and research in the field of condensed matter physics.
The package will be designed as the user's visual dialogue environment including:
- Computational unit for numerical simulation of physical processes;
- The demonstration database of the classical problems as an illustration of specific features of studied physical phenomena;
- The reference system containing a basic formulas, dependencies and constants used in computational and theoretical researches;
- The manuals on a number of actual sections in the field of condensed matter physics.
Main assignment of the Package is to enable the student or researcher to conduct computer simulation in one-dimensional approximation of physical processes in a hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, theory of an elasticity and plasticity, thermodynamics, electrodynamics, magnetic hydrodynamics.
The educational assignment of the Package consists in its application as a tutorial manual being addition to educational courses on condensed matter physics facilitating perception and mastering of an educational material. For this purpose it is supposed to use illustrative database accompanying with necessary audio- and the video-comments and tutorial manuals, designed within the framework of the Package. The Package can be used by professors and students at conducting the lectures, seminars, research investigation and laboratory practice. The Package is also useful because it will acquaint the student with up-to-date methods of research founded on wide usage of numerical computer simulation.
At conducting scientific researches the Package can be used as the tool for numerical problem solving in the field of condensed matter physics. The researcher will have possibility to prepare, run tasks and to process the results on his own. For conducting simple estimates of physical quantities the reference system can be used. The Package is intended for conducting scientific researches extremely in the peace purposes. At development of the. Package the organizational and technical measures completely eliminating possibility of usage of the Package in researches, bound with development of the weapons of a mass destruction will be implemented.
At development of the Package the task is staked to provide maximum conveniences, simplicity of mastering and usage. It will be supplied with the complete user's guide, developed detailed help and prompt systems, demonstrative, tutorial and install programs. The possibility of language customization for its usage in the European countries and USA will be implemented.
The Package will be designed for personal IBM-compatible computers with operating systems of a Windows - NT, -95, -98. The development of the Package will be conducted by resources of the integrated visual environment of development of the Windows - applications Delphi-4.
During operations under the project will be created and tested the new program commercial product - tutorial and methodical Package intended for rise of quality of the educational process and an efficiency of scientific research in the field of condensed matter physics.
The Package can widely be spread on a commercial basis for usage in technical educational institutions and scientific centers. At guessed cost of one installation about several hundreds US dollars and great many of the potential users the distribution of the Package can bring an essential commercial benefit.
On the basis of the Package the computer video-courses for independent learning of sections of condensed matter physics can be in the long term created.
