Project summary

In the northern part of the Perm Region, manifestations of stream-gold have been detected. It was clarified that in these areas there are indications of active hydrothermal activity. Deep rock study is possible with the help of seismic research. According to expert opinion, it shall help to specify locations of gold concentration.

It is suggested that research on stream-gold, which began in the areas of Perm Prikamya, where the best results on preliminary geological and scientific surveys were obtained, be continued for a further two years.

The purpose of the project is to understand gold genesis and to reveal the most prospective areas of development of the manifestation of gold of a large-scale gold ore region.

First of all, it is proposed that the search be concentrated along the length of the valley of one of the rivers in Upper Kama. Work must begin with seismic research by means of surface small-sized sources of seismic signals

During project realization a principally new method of elastic wave excitation in geological mediums, in a complex with advanced gold sample processing technologies, will be used.

A seismic signal production method will be realized with portable, powerful, simple and reliable surface sources of seismic signals. These sources use short-term non-stationary effects, caused by solid propellant combustion in the chambers of special devices, provided with mufflers.

During construction of devices and seismic signal transmission methods, progressive technical solutions are used, which hold Russian Federation patents.

The use of these sources for seismic work will allow an accumulation of definite practical experience and will help to map out ways of further assimilation of the newest technology, in order to enter the world market.

As a result of processing of the temporary sections, obtained during seismic operations, the areas of alluvial gold manifestation should be clarified. Routing research should be performed on them and wells should be drilled to a depth of 10m, until the complete crossing of the layer of alluvial deposits is achieved and up to 1000 samples of gold are taken.

The project has great commercial value. According to expert estimation, the production of gold, engaging foreign capital, can constitute up to several tons per year.
