Project summaryIn course of wrecking, in private medical practice, in veterinary medicine and other fields of human vital activity the necessity often arises of quick cleaning (decontamination, disinfection) of instruments, substrates and other means of work. The cleaning procedure lasts several minutes and the operating room where the processing takes place must not exceed some liters. The device itself must not occupy much volume, it should be enough economical, convenient and safe in operation.
In this connection it proves to be reasonable to consider the possibility to develop devices meeting the above requirements based on quite different physical principles. From the variety of methods of biological cleaning we chose the method of pulse discharge in water. Preliminary study carried out in cooperation with Research Institute of Disinfectology (RID) of Ministry of Russian Federation for Health and Institute of General Genetics of Russian Academy of Sciences (IGG) have verified an antiseptic discharge affect on microorganisms. Study in this field carried out so far allowed to develop and approve by Ministry of Russian Federation for Health (MH RF) and Ministry of Russian Federation for Atomic Energy (Minatom) medico-technical requirements (MTR-TO) on development and adjustment (see Appendix 3). A favorable comment has been received from All-Russian Institute for Research and Testing of Medical Equipment MH RF of scientific and technological level on the proposed medical device(see Appendix 4).
The goal of this project is to manufacture an experimental sample of the device for disinfection of medical instrumentation made of metal, rubber, plastic without cavities in accordance with the approved MTR-TO. The implemented work will allow to begin acceptance inspection technical and medical testing of the manufactured sample in assigned by MH RF clinics, to correct technical documentation, to get recommendation of Committee for New Medical Equipment to apply the device in medical practice and put it into industry production and also getting work specification approval.
In course of work physical problems will be studied of pulsed discharge in water, electrode material resistance, durability, and also discharge affect on vegetative and spore microorganisms and fungi, mechanisms of effect of electrical pulse on a vital cell.
In present work staff will be mainly employed earlier involved in defense subjects and partially the related equipment will be employed. The competence of the personnel employed is enough high. Doctors of Philosophy in the fields of physics, engineering, biology and medicine, National Award, Lenin Comsomol Prize, Kurchatov Prize laureates, member of Committee for New Medical Equipment. The project provides to weapon scientists and engineers earlier involved in weapon development the opportunity for peaceful scientific and research activity.
Our foreign collaborators are suggested to take part in joint safeguard of proprietary and, in addition, in looking for new customers of the produced equipment.
