Project summary

of saltatory liberation of residual stresses in the rocks”(The authors of this scientific discovery are I. T. Aitmatov and K.T. Tajibaev. Diploma # 90 for Discovery # A-109 awarded on 29. 04. 1998; Moscow, International Association of authors of scientific discoveries, Russian Academy of natural sciences) for solution of prediction problems and reducing the risk of tectonically rock bursts and induced earthquakes.

The basic causes and mechanism of tectonically rock bursts and induced earthquakes are determined on basis of results of the scientific discovery. These new results will be used for problem solving of accident prevention in zones of influence large-scale geotechnical structures positioned in seismic active regions.

The purpose of project: Assessment, prognosis and decrease of risk of induced seismicity and evoked geomechanical consequences in zones of influence of large-scale explosions and geotechnical structures (on the example of mountainous territories of Kyrgyz Republic).

High qualified specialists, sciences “armourers” including 2 academicians, 5 professors (doctors of technical sciences), 6 candidates of science and experienced mining engineers, geomechanics and seismologists would participate in this project. The project results will have fundamental importance for the seismology science, geodynamics and tectonic physics, because the mechanic processes in the upper part of the earth’s crust will be investigated from principally new positions and scientific discoveries of the authors. Practical significance of results is in determination of degree of seismic danger of mountainous regions of Kyrgyz Republic, increase of the prognosis efficiency of tectonic rock bursts and induced earthquakes, decrease of their risk in zones of man-caused effect.
