Project summaryThe aim of the Project la investigation into turbulence and mixing induced by evolution of Rayleigh-Taylor, Richtmyer-Meshkov and Kelvin-Helmholtz instabilities and development of the program complexes for describing the above mentioned processes with allowance for such non-self-similar effects as: separation with changing the sign of acceleration, passing of a shock wave through a perturbed boundary and a turbulent mixture, heat exchange between components of the mixture, mixing at the front of evaporation, turbulent zone deformations under spherical convergence, interaction between the shear turbulence and the gravitational one.
It is suggested to study the effects shown above using the experimental facilities, two-dimensional and three-dimensional simulations and to describe the mentioned effects within the framework of the following semiempirical models: HKe-model, the improved Ke-model and the two-velocity model. There will be used the installations and programs created for military purposes. 76 persons will be perted completely or partially from the activity connected with the weapon improvement.
The suggested investigations should be considered as the fundamental ones which will be used in different ICF projects being developed with the aim of energy production, in astrophysics, for describing evolution of stars as well as for describing jet flows in numerous applications.
