Project summaryThe main goal of the project is a development of new technologies and design solutions for superconducting cavities which are the key-element of linear accelerators. There is a wide range of applications of such accelerators – from industry to medicine and scientific research. The work of the linear accelerators is based on the superconducting high frequency cavities made of super-pure niobium. At the same time, the major drawback of this approach is a limitation of the accelerating field due to en electron emission from the cavity surface following by electric discharge. In order to decrease the electron emission sources concentration on the cavity surface one has to realize a project to create the given structural states in super-pure niobium, to develop a basic technology of fine grain niobium sheet manufacture, to grow a mono-crystal niobium ingots, sheets and profiles to assure high functional characteristics of the superconducting cavities.
